The old guard, The Originals, took over this board and proceeded to talk about anything they wanted to, most especially politics!! In two presidential election years (I believe in 08 and 12), if there were 12 new posts, 13 of them were about what complete morons the Ds were and how them Ls were ruining blah blah blah blah blah!!! And if you didn't want to read that, well Greg Susong gave us this gift and he said no topic was off limits, so we can do whatever we want!

I BEGGED on two separate occasions that if they wanted to post something that had nothing to do with any casino-related topic, then please post NCR (Not Casino Related) at the beginning of the subject line.

OH! MY!! GOD!!!

You would've thought that I had burned the constitution and that I was the problem!! I'll never ever forget when Phyllis Spag posted "NCR - Nitwits Can Rant" and The Originals pounced all over that one! It was MONTHS that this would go on. They would put in the subject line, "Hey, everyone, check this out!" Well, maybe The Silverton or The Palms had a new chip! NOPE!!! Just another political post.

I would get emails from members and non-members telling me either The Originals were all bark and no bite, or for me to keep it up because this board belongs to everyone, not just them. But on those days when the blowback to posting three simple letters to the subject line was particular harsh, I was hung out to dry. So I stopped checking in. Fine, you win, I lose. I don't need this! Both times, I stayed away for about a year. The only reason I ever came back was I was missing out on new releases and information about the convention.

So if you want the truth, I could care less what happens to this board. Set it on fire and let it join the Town Tavern for all I care. I'm guessing I'm not alone, that by the end, we lost a ton of new or potentially new members because of what was going on here. I will be sad if this club is unable to continue, but I won't be surprised.
