Don, Was a friend. I did many antique slot machine deals with him over the years. He was a avid collector of antique slot machines, he had a very nice collection, which was always on display at his Riverside Casino. He also has a very nice car collection at the casino. He really enjoyed talking about old classic slot machines.
Don actually got his start in the Nevada gaming business at the North Las Vegas 101 Club which he bought back in the 1950's. He then turned Southpoint Nevada into Laughlin , NV. In addition to his many other attributes, Don was also a qualified fixed wing and rotary pilot. In fact in the last few years his main form of transportation was via helicopter, which he kept on a pad at the Riverside Casino.
I will also remember all the great years of the Annual River Run Motorcycle Rally he sponsored in Laughlin. We always stayed at his RV Park next to the Riverside. It was always considered " Party Central " for the event. Those were some great fun years. Don always treated me and my friends very well at his casino. Plus many great old Vegas and early Southpoint chips came from Don.
Don was a real people person, with a bigger then life personality. He will be missed.
