Years ago there was a guest at one of our Atlantic City club meetings who showed me some rare Atlantic City casino slot cards that I tried to buy but we couldn't agree on a price. I saw him again sometime later, and again we couldn't agree on price. A few years after that I found out he had moved to Arizona and I managed to contact him. He looked but couldn't find the cards anymore after the move so I thought they were gone.
Years later I'm at the Las Vegas convention hanging out at the slot card & room key club table. I took a break to walk around the show and while I was gone one of the dealers came to the table asking if anyone was interested in slot cards. They gave him my name and said they'd let me know. When I found out I went right over to talk to him and he indicated he had a box of cards in his car but couldn't get to it right then as he had used valet parking that day. He said to come back the next morning and he'd have the box for me to look through. He just stated he didn't want to sell individual cards, just the whole lot. Well when I went back the next morning the box was there and when I opened it there were the rare Atlantic City cards I had been trying to get sitting right on top of the pile. Needless to say we agreed on a price and I bought the whole box. And what a treasure hunt that box became with a ton of cards I didn't have!
