I think the seller is trying to tap into a buyer’s “got a bargain” emotion.

I remember someone telling me they had a chip they wanted $50 for. No buyer. Re-listed for $100 “or best offer”. Not too long after, received an offer of $60. Sold it. Seller was happy and buyer was happy with his “bargain”.
