The Hotel Owyhee is still functioning as a hotel. The Hotel Boise is now the Hoff Building. However there is a lasting legacy the Hotel Boise.
Roger Miller performed at the Snake River Stampede in Nampa back in 1972. Just before he started to play King of the Road, he said, "For any of those who are here from Boise, you’ll be proud to know that I wrote King of the Road in Boise." At one time, I could've told you what room he stayed in, but that information has been pushed aside for something more important, like "Did I take all my meds today? I don't remember. I think I did. I'm pretty sure I did. Well, phooey! I better go look!"
