Abandoned casino cruises ship that was once the pride of the Soviet Union cashes in its chips, probably for good — 23 March 2021 2:08 GMT

China Metropolis was in Singapore without a a flag or classification society, and was the last ship used in Hong Kong’s once bustling overnight casino cruise trade that ended on a breaker’s beach.
The admiralty division Hong Kong’s Court of First Instance accepted final tender offers for the 15,800-Gross Ton cruise ship Metropolis that was built 1976.
Owned by China International — the ship operated last under the name Metropolis and sailed nightly out of Hong Kong Harbor before Covid 19 caused the line to halt service. It was being towed to another destination when Metropolis received horrific seas and wind causing the ship heavy damage and almost sink. It was later towed the beach in India where the vessel was scrapped “as is” and it is currently being cannibalized and pieces like these chips are coming out of the High Rollers gambling cage. These jeton high-value chips are being sold on the internet.
