NANCY AND I WERE IN THE MIDST OF A TRIP UP TO BATTLE CREEK, MI (THE LONG WAY THROUGH THE UPS) FOR THEIR 2ND SHOW. WE HAD COME FROM WATERLOO, IA ON THAT LEG OF THE JOURNEY. DRIVING THROUGH MINNEAPOLIS-ST PAUL WAS A HARROWING EXPERIENCE TO YOURS TRULY, AS IS ALL LARGE CITIES. WE HAD STOPPED A BIT AT THE LITTLE SIX CASINO EARLIER FOR A FEW CHIPS.
WHEN WE GOT TO COLUMUS, MN WE WERE BASICALLY LOST. ANY WE FINALLY FOUND OUR WAY TO THE “TRACK”. WE WANTED TO GRAB A BITE TO EAT. WHAT WE FOUND WAS QUITE EXTRAORDINARY.
WE TOLD THE YOUNG LADY THAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR ANY ARTICLES WITH THE LOGO FROM RUNNING ACES. WHEN WE WALKED OUT OF THE PLACE WE HAD TWO SHOPPING BAGS OF GOODIES. WE HAD SEVERAL DECKS OF CARDS, COUNTLESS TRINKETS, T-SHIRTS AND CHIPS FROM THE BACK OF THE CASHIERS CAGE. I FELT THAT THE YOUNG LADY COULD OF DOUBLED AS THE CHAIRMAN OF THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR THE TOWN OF COLUMBUS, MN.
RUNNING ACES HAD ONLY BEEN OPEN ABOUT A YEAR. IT WAS A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE AND VERY GOOD HARVEST, CLEVERLY DISGUISED AS A PIT STOP…REGGIE
