About 15 years, downtown Las Vegas had 5 casinos that had poker. Now it has only 1. Back then I made it a goal to play at all 5 downtown in 1 day. I played at Binions, Golden Nugget, the Plaza, Fitzgerald’s and the El Cortez. At the El Co, they only had 1 table running and it was a spread limit game which I never had played before. Lo and behold, I was seated right next to Jackie Gaughan. It was one of the most fun times ever at the poker table. Lots of well wishers came up to him during the session. I think he may have been 85, or so, at that time..
