They were in the book as Detroit since that was the shipping address from USPC and hardly anyone knew who B.C. Wills was.
Henry G. said they were from a Miami-Havana ferry prior to me going down to the South Florida Historical Society Museum Library, in Miami, where they took me into a back room, pulled down a box from a shelf and placed it on the floor where I spent hours reading all the çc letters and docs from city and state officials which I Xeroxed and labeled The Capone Letters which described what was going on in town in trying to rid Miami of Capone -- history we never knew, prior. and I distributed all the letters and documents into the hobby around the World and wrote a piece in our club magazine.
Prior to all of this I was buying the chips for $3 and selling for $6,
I informed the seller who had the box of 100 with the history (he was finding me heavy KY and other illegal stuff at the time).
At that point I was paying him more and selling for more and the value slowly climbed to, 10, 50, 75 and then 100.
When someone in CA sold one of the chips I sold him for 250, I increased the value to 305mand sold about 17 at that level.
Though I bought the majority of the chips from the seller, there were others who bought from him as well when they were 3-bucks each.
Once the $305 price was established I had bought t back severs chips st the $200 )evel (here) and these are my last four and missed out on a $150 one here a few months ago.
The last person to buy at $305 was Eisenstadt. Not sure what became of it` if he resold it or went to P&P.
Please tell why you feel it is overpriced in the $60 range...
