Re: Question For Phil Jensen
In Response To: Question For Phil Jensen ()

Alex, Bill was mainly interested in promoting the chip
collecting hobby as evidenced by his publication of the
Blue Book. He was excited about obtaining the NEVADA
mold and producing chips from closed casinos that used that mold.
I didn’t think it was a good idea but he didn’t see anything
wrong with it. I’m sure he wasn’t trying to deceive anyone
as he sold them for sixty cents each from his showroom on
Reno ave. He put out a catalog that offered a lot of casino
stuff and wound have liked to sell chips to casinos but it never
came to that.
On another matter, I noticed you contributed a 25 cent and
$5 L.C. chip to the chip guide supposedly from the Little Casino.
I remember buying some of the $5 chips from an old black guy
at the Broadacres swap meet in the 70s. He said they were from
the Low Cost casino on the West Side where he lived. I’d never
heard of such a place and said they must be from the Louisiana
Club. He got pretty upset and insisted they were from the Low Cost
casino that he was familiar with. Anyway if you look up Low Cost
Games there is a $1 L.C. that pretty much matches.
