I would occasionally stop at the Longbranch. The place smelled like an outhouse
but I liked talking with the owner. If you look closely at the front you
can make out the words Silver Bar, a previous name. Luning was originally
called Deep Well. Silver and gold were mined in 1881-82. An 18 room
hotel and several bars are all gone now.
