We didn't have anything from Gerlach until I bought this chip, on the chipboard, a week or two ago!
My best guess is that these places were very small, they probably didn't have many postcards, matchbooks, swizzle sticks, or ashtrays. They also didn't have many tables, so not a lot of chips or dice. And a lot of them weren't open for very long.
Our collecting is pretty random...we rarely search for anything specific, we buy what we stumble across...if we like the item and the price. And...not all of our collection is scanned, so I'm not showing everything. (Chips, matchbooks, matchbook covers, postcards, swizzle sticks, playing cards, a lot of ashtrays, ARE scanned. Menus, dice, other paper stuff, a lot of ashtrays are NOT scanned)
I have quite a few images, on the computer, of the small towns and small town casinos...but they were sent to me by other collectors ("but don't show it to anyone else!"), or I've copied them from the chipboard, or ebay, or elsewhere. I prefer to not show items that don't belong to us.
