Harrah’s owned the Zephyr Cove Lodge in the 60s. They wanted
me to manage the slots there but I turned them down. We had fun
times on the MS Dixie, a paddle wheel boat that docked there. Tourists
have now overwhelmed all parts of Tahoe and parking is challenging.
You have to pay for everything. I remember when Nate Jacobsen opened
Kings Castle. I got hired to deal dice but never showed up. A lot crazy
stuff went on there. Locals were upset with the gaudy appearance of the
place. I remember KC began as the Incline Village across the street.
