As to if I had the misfortune of being in the same bar I can pretty much tell you what it would be like.
He would be at the bar loudly and obnoxiously holding court for some poor, captive audience and saying how great, tremendous and clever he was. whereas I would probably be nursing a beer in a booth as far away from the annoying droning noise as possible before leaving.
