Re: Small town stuff; Laughlin... grin

I don't consider Laughlin a small town anymore, it has a real following these days, especially in the winter months. Back in the day when I lived in California we would visit Laughlin at least 5 to 6 times a year. The best was always the annual River Run Motorcycle Rally.

Back in the 1980's I got to know Don Laughlin, because of our mutual interest in old antique slot machines. Over the years I did quite a few deals with Don regarding machines. I was able to acquire great many of his older casino chips, except for a Davis Dam chip, which I still need to this day. Also got a large group of chips when they closed the Regency Casino, from Bud Soper's family.

The last few years we don't visit as much. Our go to place was Harrah's. I just loved hanging out on the patio at the Diamond Lounge. Over the years went to numerous outdoor concerts there, and at least 3 or 4 Super Bowl parties. Great memories from Laughlin.
