Re: Facts not claims as you state.

Yep, a plastic laminate USUALLY with a denomination which none of the Portsmouth or London ones have. I have already said that I class them as roulette jetons but the section is called Roulette CHIPS not jetons and unless the guide wants to start another section then the relevant place is in jetons. I can't think of any other UK jetons without a cash value and (as no Portsmouth cash jetons have turned up yet) for the moment I will have to assume that normal cash chips were given if any jetons were cashed out at the table.
No, I have no problem with roulette chips (as used on a roulette table and also called wheel chips or colour chips) being in the correct section, it is just when it is a JETON that I don't think they should be. The key word is CHIP not JETON, and there is a difference. Jetons are more like tokens or counters as opposed to chips and the only translation that comes up when I look is token not chip.
It doesn't matter what is stated in the article (as that is not what is being discussed) because on the guide they are listed under Jetons. It would be great if it was mentioned that they were used on French roulette but that's not up to me so I don't concern myself with that. They are jetons and listed as such. Yes, the guide has incomplete information as I have stated over and over again but they have enough to do without giving them more work.
Should the Portsmouth ones also be listed under roulette chips then? Along with all the other jetons with denominations as most would just have been only used on the FR tables too although in the early/mid 1960s they were also used on other games which just complicates matters.
By the same token, £2.50 metal chips should have their own section as BJ tokens but they don't. Neither do membership cards or session tickets as stated before. I'm sure there are many other sections that could be created but again, not my concern or up to me.
It still doesn't change the fact that they are first and foremost jetons but consistency would be nice. Portsmouth and London are not consistent with each other.
