I just came through Goldfield and the Hotel is once again for
sale. I’ve been through it and it’s been gutted by the various
owners. Every one planned to open it but that won’t happen.
I remember the Green Parrot, Gables, and several other bars
now closed. Others are open on a hit and miss basis. The only
live chip I ever got was at the Santa Fe saloon. They did a lot
of work on Tex Ricard’s place but I’ve never seen it open.
I’ve been going through town since 1966 and still enjoy
looking around. There are lots of postcards and books-this
one is interesting .
