At the time, I got it at the Golden Nugget cage and was told that it was being "redeemed" and would be destroyed with all the others. I recall agonizing over keeping my $5 or keeping the chip (which over the next several weeks would become obsolete).

As a newbie, I swallwed hard and kept the chip. I still have it... and the story.
