Yea, the floorplan is exactly what I was thinking.
Within the individual rooms, instead of pictures of bottles, they would be fully interactive displays.
For instance (spitballing here), within the Hall of Illegals, you would have the "Texas rooms". When you enter it, instead of your bottles, it would show different "displays" (think of walls in a museum) such as:
Galveston:
- The Early Gangs
- Rise of the Maceos
- Gambling Heydays
- The Rangers Fight Back
- The Declining Years
Dallas:
- The Diamond Years
- Binion Takes Over
- The Bloody Gambling War
- Fort Worth Spillover
- After Binion
For each of the above, you have a writeup, plenty of artifacts, and maybe even a recorded video (or audio) from an expert (i.e. curator or docent).
As I said before, this will take considerable time always be expanding. The good thing about virtual museums is expansion is all about programming instead of construction. Better for the back as well.
