I’m a happy member of the CCA Club an active user of the chipboard
Have been for 10 years now.
I started as a collector of chips and started so by attending the
Long Beach coin show and meeting Henry Garret.
I saw his chips and sat and talked with him and he told me about
the club and the June Convention.
I thought I’d do something different and collect the mysterious Cuba
chips from what got me interested the history of pre Castro gaming
and Clubs that emanated through Cigar smoke ,gambling, wild women
and of course sugar cane Rum. Sounds like a party to me and then add
in all the American entertainers and entertainment and you get old Vegas
in Habana. Since then I’ve branched out to Tahoe, Reno, California and
then broke, caved to the Las Vegas scene which had its attraction I
guess I couldn’t resist. Then my eyes went overseas where I fell in love
with Playboy chips for a lot of the same reasons, beautiful chips, bunnies
and a heck of a history especially in the 60’s70’s then all the Playboy
Clubs around the world. Also back to Las Vegas for the Palms Playboy chips.
Then and now collect all these areas and recently included Texas, Florida
and even some middle eastern countries.
So I’m all over the world but trying to narrow down to some of the better chips
From each of these areas for my collection which one day may hit the convention
display cases for display, trade or sell ? Well see ?!?!
But along the way I’ve met great people in our club and made friends. Most I
meet once a year at the convention and others year round on the internet or phone
talking chips and sharing life events.
I support our club and it’s People and I will support David Spragg for President if he
runs next time.
I also will remain an avid chipboard poster because I know you enjoy my new acquisitions
as much as I like getting them and yours too, Pam, Richard, Mitch, Reggie, etc and so on.
I’m also not going to ever go on other chip sites ever again if those others don’t change.
I can’t in good conscience participate in that which is worse than what it claims is
so bad with the CCA, hurtful not helpful conversation.
I participated for Joe and Sarah to fallow them but not what it’s brought to the board
and Club. I’m happy to see they’ve gone to you tube for chipping and chip talk because
they Rock and do make chipping fun !!!
And hope they continue with our Club to make it a better place and help support us as
I support them.
I think these new young computer savvy members can help bring us into the future in
style !!!
