First of all, many thanks to the club officers, members, and volunteers who helped make this great event happen. I enjoyed seeing familiar faces, putting faces to names, and meeting new people, particularly nonmembers, and people who had no idea that people like us existed. I did not encounter a single negative interaction, so I know people can hold their tongues when they want to.
Below is a picture of my hall for this year. I’m not really a silver strike collector, but I was made an offer I couldn’t refuse, so these 11 are going in the pile with my others (that I don’t collect, but have a collection of). Of the chips shown, the top three checked off three casinos from my list (Apex Club, Big Bonanza, Louie’s Lounge). The Louisiana club and bingo barn are placeholders. The Minden Inn (VJR) chip is a duplicate, believe it or not. So, it is for sale if you’re interested. A very rare chip, indeed, and it’s a coveted five dollar denomination. The Stockman’s (Stockmen’s) chip is an upgrade and it’s also an error chip. The bottom three are from the broken drum. I collected a broken drum for an exhorbitant price) at the last convention and was shocked to see these three available at a very reasonable price, so I grabbed them. Not sure if I want to sell these or have a nearly complete set to keep. If you want to try to talk me out of them, I am open to offers.
