I met a security person from LCO at Carter. We were chatting and I said I collected casino chips. He said, do you have the one from (and because I'm short on memory for names - a singer) He said, in the early years we had (name) preforming at the casino and they had a commemorative chip issued for him. ??? Not in CG and I never heard of that. The guy has worked there 25 years. Only group I could find a record of playing there was Kansas in 1998. That's not it.
I also mentioned the name change and he said (true or not, it's amusing) they thought it sounded like a social disease so they changed the name.
Lac Courte Oreilles Casino, commonly called the LCO Casino, in Hayward, Wisconsin has a 35,000 square foot casino floor with 650 slot machines, ten table games, poker, bingo, Keno, Hotel and RV Park. Open 24 hours daily. Became Sevenwinds Casino, Lodge & Conference Center in 2018. I've never been there. Sometime in 1965 I probably drove through on the way up to go skiing at Ironhead, Wakefield Lodge in Michigan.
All old chips are of no value and the redemption ended in 2018.
So mystery chip, from the 90s, from LCO. If anyone has any ideas or knows what it was, that would be interesting and of course, I need one for the collection.
