While I rarely post on the chipboard anymore, I wanted to share some thoughts that some of you have heard before, but I believe still hold true.

The convention is more than just chips.

In fact to me it’s not about chips at all, it’s about people. Seeing old friends again and making new ones.

Attend the banquet
Go to the chipboard get together
Take in the seminars
Play in the poker tournament
Make some bids in the auction
Buy some raffle tickets
Enjoy the splashy awards
Meet some fellow chippers at the Splashbar
Make some new friends
Enjoy yourself

Yes you can also add to your collection, but there is SO much more at the convention.

I have made so many lifelong friends at the convention and lost so many good friends over the years.
Life is short, cherish those friendships and make the most of them while you still can.

For those that don’t know me, please stop by and say hello. I am hard to miss as I will be the guy smoking the big cigar in the hallway and at the bar enjoying a glass of scotch.

I would be happy to give any advice I can to those looking for that special chip or attending the convention for your first time.
