My best friend Charlie passed away at the age of 93 years young last July. He served three tours and is greatly missed. The stories he told spoke volumes. The funniest story I can remember is when a crate showed up back in the states filled with military paraphernalia. The family thought he was killed in combat and no one could reach him. Low and behold he showed up a couple days later. Turns out he sent home the crate filled with items he accumulated during one of his tours.

This is the first Memorial Day he did not lead the parade in that Jeep Willys.
