Always was very fond of the Riverside Casino. Especially when Jesse Beck was running it. My very first trip to Reno was in 1971. I had received a letter from Jesse Beck inviting me and my wife to an all expense weekend for returning Vietnam veterans. It was a great weekend for all of us that received the invitation. The highlight of the trip was a big banquet on Saturday night. Plus we all got to meet Jesse and we were all given $250 in gaming chips for our enjoyment. Jesse was a very patriotic person. She was always sending playing cards and other items to us in Vietnam. She was a part of old classic Reno, back then.
