My husband has always been a Redd Foxx fan! We went to the show at the Hacienda. I still remember Redd saying something to the effect that it was his show and he was going to say whatever he wanted to say. If anyone was offended by what he said, they could leave...and a few people did!! During the show his glass was never empty, and he always had a cigarette burning.

In 2018 we were in Las Vegas and my husband asked me to put Rawhide and Eastern into the navigational system. The Garmin couldn't find anyplace in Las Vegas called Rawhide, so I asked my husband what we were looking for. He said Redd Foxx's house! He started driving down Eastern and found Rawhide Street. We noticed a realty office nearby, with a small red fox on the sign...we found Redd Foxx's house!

There was no one there, so we took a few pictures and left. Then my husband started driving down Eastern again...and turned into the Palms Mortuary cemetery??! Now what? He heard that Redd was buried here! We saw an office and a gentleman standing outside. We asked him if Redd was buried there and he confirmed that he was, as was Tony Curtiss. He started giving us directions to find Redd's grave, then he said to wait a minute and he'd get the golf cart and take us to Redd's grave. He did that, and he told us that Redd was so broke that there was no money to bury him. Eddie Murphy, and a few other friends, paid for Redd's funeral and gravestone.

In 2019 we took my step-daughter and her family to Las Vegas with us. She wanted to see the grave, and we needed things to do with minors, so we took them to the cemetery, as well as Redd's house.

This time, there was someone in the realty office. We told them that we wanted to pay our respects to Redd. First she said it had been a number of years since Redd had been there. A little later she said that Redd still visits the house! She said that they close no later than 3:00 every day, because that's when Redd shows up! It starts with them smelling cigarette smoke. He also messes with their wiring...they can't have a landline phone in the office because he messes with it...and he turns off their computers!

Twice a year they have paranormal investigators in, and they have overnight stays where guests can spend the night. She said that she did it once and will never spend the night there again! Sounded spooky but cool.
