The more I hear about the mismanagement or should I say the lack of management the more disgusted I get. They spent $14,000 for a consultant! Really! I was one of the highest paid consultants in the business and had actual experience in owning and operating four PROFITABLE museum attractions. I have always offered my advice and knowledge to the club for free. There is much talent in the club but over the years they have been turned off by club politics. I have always been told “It’s just a hobby”, that is true but when you have an organization it needs to be run like a business and the people running it need to be held accountable for whatever duties they have. As I stated before my heart goes out to those who contributed in good faith, thinking that there would be some sort of museum/clubhouse down the road. Here is some free advice. Merge the MOGH with the CCA. Get rid of the printed version of the club magazine and make it available online. Continue with the little displays you do around town to maintain your tax free status. (Education) These displays need to actually have some educational content, you can’t just throw a bunch of stuff in a case and expect people to know what they are looking at. Much better signage and perhaps video displays. This club has always marketed itself internally. That does not work long term. External marketing is the only way this organization will grow. The hobby is booming! The club is dying!
