IT WAS THE H A L NOORDAM THAT TOOK US TO MONACO. IT WAS AT MONACO THAT I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO VISIT “MONTE CARLO” AND THE CASINO.
WE HAD A FULL DAY AT MONTE CARLO, WE DID SOME SHOPPING, WATCHED THE CHANGING OF THE GUARD AT THE PALACE, AND DID A BIT OF SIGHTSEEING. WE HAD RESERVED ABOUT 3 HOURS FOR THE CASINO. http://www.themogh.org/cg_state2.php?id=mc
WHEN WE GOT THERE IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT TO SEE. THE MAIN PART WAS NOT OPEN. HOWEVER, IT WOULD OPEN AT ONE. BUT FOR OUR CONVENIENCE THE AUXILLARY CASINO NEXT TO IT WAS OPEN WITH SEVERAL HUNDRED STINGY MACHINES ACCORDING THE VETRAN SLOT PLAYER (NANCY). WITH A LITTLE TIME TO EXPLORE, I FOUND SOME TABLES IN THE AUXILLARY CASINO, THAT WOULD NOT OPEN UNTIL ABOUT 5PM. WE HAD TO BE ABOARD THE NOORDAM BY 5PM. I TRIED TO TALK TO SOME EMPLOYEES ABOUT CHIPS AND HOW TO ACQUIRE THEM, BUT ALL I COULD GET IS WAIT UNTIL THE MAIN CASINO OPENS. IF THERE ARE ANY CAR BUFFS OUT THERE; YOU WOULD HAVE DROOLED AT THE CARS PARKED IN FRONT OF THE CASINO.
AT 1 PM WE STOOD IN LINE TO BE THE FIRST TO GET IN. THE CASINO ITSELF, THE BUILDING IS DRIPPING WITH HISTORY AND STORIES OF THE PAST. I PAID MY TEN AMERICAN DOLLARS AND WENT INSIDE WANDERED AROUND, AND I HAVE TO SAY IT WAS NOT AS IMPRESSIVE ON THE INSIDE. I WAS DIRECTED TO THE CASHIER, ALL THE WAY IN THE BACK WHERE I BOUGHT ABOUT $50 WORTH OF JETONS AND LEFT. I DID NOT BUY ENOUGH CHIPS AT THIS PLACE …REGGIE
