I agree with your sentiments about LE chips. But also keep in mind that they attracted a lot of people into the hobby. I think that some casinos quickly realized that they had a profit center with LE's and started to pump them out as fast as they could. I don't think that LE's are necessarily bad for the hobby, so many of us like to take home souvenirs when we visit casinos, it is the overabundance of LE's that was the problem.
