The issue is that this course of action WAS ONLY used when it concerned chips that were likely bought from someone involved with CG. There have been a multitude of chips that have been found in quantity but have never been listed with a "HOARD ALERT" or even pricing as was done on Mr Madrigrano's chips. Is knowing there is quantity of a certain chip beneficial for a collector/buyer? Of course it is no one is arguing that. But then there should be similar alerts like this throughout CG would you not agree? And who is in charge of policing these hoard finds? All of this would surely upset a large number of dealers who make up a nice chunk of the club...so it appears it is only used when it affects certain situations....hence a weapon. The elephant in the room is that the club is made up of buyers and sellers...thinking that they have the same interests is ludicrous.
I have tried to fight this fight before not only on this subject but many others...only to receive the same dismissive and flippant responses from those in charge. I now concentrate my efforts on other avenues and ideas to find a better way for all of us to engage and enjoy the hobby.
Enjoy the stalemate
