Paul, It was probably before your time at Barksdale. Back in the 1970's Barksdale was a SAC B-52 base. Every year we had a major international bombing competition there commonly known as " BOMB COMP ". All the SAC wings through out the world, and the UK and the RAAF each sent 1 aircraft to the competition. The winner received the coveted trophy as the Best Bomb Wing in the world for that particular year. We always had a great time. Especially if you won.
