vbg Harvest Stories from here & abroad mad

Hello Chippers; Here is a short story from yours truly or a guest author of our experiences while harvesting somewhere in the gaming world. A few are from countries out side the USA. Most are entertaining and most are instructive as to what to do or what not to do while harvesting chips from casinos or card rooms. Reggie

PERSONAL HARVESTING STORIES

BEAR RIVER CASINO LOLETA, CA

By:RICHARD “REGGIE” GUMMER

My wife and I had about a month to kill; before our marriage in the summer of 2007. So we decided to make a run up to the Oregon Coast. On the way, in our newly bought, used 32 foot RV, we stopped for a free over-night parking in a little place called Loleta, CA. Bear River Casino had been open just under 2 years.
My wife Nancy a veteran slot player, loved the slots in this place; meanwhile I found the poker room. There was a couple of games going, so I sat down and picked up a few hands. I did not do very good this particular night.
But, I was there to harvest, and I knew the snappers and the $1 chips would be popular traders so I got a nice supply. While still in the game I got to talking to the poker room manager, actually I believe he was the swing shift manager for the whole casino. He said you know since you are a collector, maybe you would be interested in this: (see CG) http://www.themogh.org/cg_chip2.php?id=CALOBR and he showed me the limited edition first anniversary $10 chip with Serial Numbers (46mm). This is what all harvesters dream of is making a score that most people are not privy to. I said are they face value? He said yes and I said I will take five. Thinking they may be a little hard to find homes for. Of course, hindsight is 20/20. Later, I wished I had bought at least 10. He said no problem with the five, are you sure you can’t use more? Because, they are going to dump them in the cement mixer when they pour the next slab on our new building project, were not done growing yet, he said with a wink. This is the first of many stories that ends in a “I wished I would of bought more”…Reggie
