Gold Strike in Tunica was sold to the Cherokee Indians and the sale was completed on Feb 15th. I just checked with them and the claim that they are going to continue to use the original Gold Strike chips which is too bad because we could use a nice new set of chips from Tunica. They have apparently issued a recall notice for some older anniversary chips. A few weeks ago I was thinking of visiting Tunica and they had a $59 midweek rate. With the new owners the midweek rate is $109. Don't know how many hillbillies they are going to get with that rate.
