Today we talk about a chip that probably hasn't been seen by many before and a chip that I originally got to see about two years ago now. This chip is from the 40/40 Club that used to be located inside of the Palazzo Casino in Las Vegas. I was lucky enough to get a peak at this chip from owner, Mike Christensen, at the CCA convention in 2021. I messaged Mike about a month or so ago asking if we could hop onto a call so I could get some more information about the chip/story and never got time to until we got to see each other at the Casinorama show last month. We talk for 5-10 minutes about the chip and the story of how he was able to get it. Mike says that he waited outside of the 40/40 club for a few days on one of his trips to Vegas around 2007/2008 when the 40/40 club had first opened. On the final day of his trip a dealer asked if he wanted to sit down and play, Mike quickly said YES! He bought in for $1000, at the time table minimums for $100 per hand. He played some blackjack for a few hands, lost some money, but was able to walk away with some chips for a memory. I had never seen this chip before Mike showed me it, I had never known it existed and I didn't even know that there was a 40/40 club here in Las Vegas. As someone who loves Jay-Z's music, you would think I would've known that! Interesting chip and a very cool story! Hope you enjoy!
