The eBay seller along with shopkeepers in Paris, explained to us that the worn chips were returned to Caro where they removed the engravings on both sides and reshaped the blanks to eventually be resold as in the case with the PAU (Palais d'Hiver) along with all the other inventories of super-thin chips found in several stages of remanufacture.
