I got my padded envelope on about the same day others did from the Reno seller. As soon as I stuck my hand in the envelope I knew something was wrong because the inlay I felt on both sides were curled. I phoned a few collectors at work and home and explained what I had and they, too, had received the same from Reno... Shortly after, Howdy wrote the article explaining what the chips were.
Looking closely, all I saw under the curled inlays was a bed of cured carpenter's glue (white glue) that was clear and brittle and nothing else.
My inlays were as blurry as the example in ChipGuide, with a lot of lost detail on the curled edge.
