I've wondered sometimes if I was wrong many years ago when I called them Long Cane vs Short Cane. In fact I think the people who called it Raised Cane have a better idea. But there's no going back in time.
Way back in the 90s, I took a photo of each, with what I had back then, (a 1MP Mavica 7) which wasn't very high resolution. Put the two images, side by side. Printed the image and measured one vs the other.
Winter in Wisconsin, I'm waiting for the mail with my Dansco pages, so I can continue to be more organized. (which never truly happens)
Cameras and lenses and lighting have improved quite a bit. This isn't the best and I can do better, and for the sake of science and investigation, I should probably do more testing. But for now?
Two Red Lion Roulette H&C chips, the same color, of the same age. Both are new and never used, as far as I know. I cloned the identical photos, taken with the same lens and all the same settings, so they are together in on image.
I feel better now. The LCV is indeed longer and different from the SCV. I need to check more of these and instead of the enlarger lens, use a macro lens. As usual I did this with what was on the camera. And besides I like experimenting.
I think I own a C&J of some sort, somewhere?
