I've only seen a few (2-3 max in person) before these were found. They aren't that common and seeing a large group like this is something that doesn't happen often. I believe that you paid an okay price, of course it could've been slightly less, but I do think that over the years the value of these will increase as will many chips in the hobby. The one thing about these chips is that no one really knows what they were and it's sort of a hidden gem in my books. Its one of those chips that "if you know you know" type deals. Myself and Emilio, along with probably other collectors, have been fascinated with these chips for a while. I originally got introduced to them by Emilio and I've been on the search for a while. I'd LOVE to have some of the spotted ones in the future, who knows maybe even one of each if that's ever possible. That would be a dream come true.
I ultimately believe these chips will go up in value as time goes on, but I do believe more people need to know what they are in order for that to happen. Like I said... hidden gems!
Here's a few pictures of the place when it was still open in San Diego. From my understanding they never had any tables and these chips were used almost like meal vouchers (if I understand it correctly)
None of the pictures are mine, just found online...
