Interview from Bugsy's daughter

This was on Facebook, even though from a few years ago, it was a great video of Las Vegas history in the making.

76 years old! Happy Anniversary Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino! #OnThisDay - Dec. 26, 1946 - it opened with 105 rooms. The Flamingo wasn't the first hotel (it was the third) on the #LasVegas Strip, but its opening arguably sparked the beginnings of the Strip as a destination location and a new era for Las Vegas.
The resort now has more than 3,600 rooms. The Flamingo was built at cost of $6 million (cost adjusted to today's dollars - that's more than 85 million), it was called "the West's Greatest Resort Hotel" and the Strip's first "luxury" hotel. Its early story, history and connections to Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel have been well documented over the years.
The Flamingo's opening didn't go well at all and Siegel closed the hotel shortly afterwards. It would reopen in March 1947. It remains the oldest Strip property still in operation today.
On this anniversary of the Flamingo opening - we share our interview with Millicent Rosen, the daughter of Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel. It was her only U.S. television interview. It has intriguing Siegel home video and personal correspondence. Watch: buff.ly/2PR78zQ.
