I'll ask around.
There are a couple of other people that I've tried to get in contact with but still had no luck. The ex-manager of the Playboy Victoria and training school boss has some Playboy items in his small museum (although now packed away in storage) and I have asked him many things over the years so will keep trying to get back in contact with him and see if he knows (or remembers) for sure. At least it would be better than just speculating.
I'd mention Geoff Lindsey (as he worked for Huxley) but that wouldn't help with the Gold plaque although maybe he knows if there were any Playboy Victoria chips above £25 or at least what they looked like colour-wise.
As I said, I wish I'd known about it when I spoke to Victor (as he said to call him, seemed a decent chap) as if anybody would remember, I'd have thought it would be him. There are (or were) managers and a couple of others that collected Playboy memorabilia but most have passed on but I find that most family members either don't know or are reluctant to talk about it.
I've often thought about contacting the jeweller who made it but as I've said, he was extremely cagey and didn't really want to admit to making the Clermont one so I don't really expect that to have changed.
I was amazed and very pleased that I managed to find a photo of the Clermont gold plaque but am almost wishing I hadn't bothered mentioning it now.
The ex-Clermont manager that was GM when it was closed down (when owned by Playboy) assured me that there were never any Playboy Clermont chip/plaques as it always treated as a "separate" entity although they did have bunny dresses as far as I know. Doesn't really mean that much as so did the ISC (so I've been told) when it opened at 45 Park Lane and they had nothing to do with Playboy.
