All true. As a coin dealer, I will add this: proof coins are struck from specially polished dies that lend a mirror image in the flat field next to the actual design. The US Mint has been experimenting with “reverse proof” coins, in which the design, like an eagle, for example, exhibits the mirror like image and the field is that of a normal coin.
