Doug, They were never used on the tables. Slim Ewing was an old friend of time. Back about 25 years ago I was at one of his where house locations here in Las Vegas. We were talking about an old slot machine deal. I noticed he had all these boxes of chips ( $2.50 ) pink chips. I asked him about the chips. He told me they were pretty much worthless. He had an order years ago from the Desert Inn, but by the time the chips were delivered, his Nevada gaming license had been revoked. So after doing a deal on some old antique slot machines, he told me if you want the chips take them. So I ended up with 9 boxes of the $2.50 chips, brand new in the box. The next week I proceeded to the Long Beach Coin show, which I always attended. I brought 6 boxes to the show, sold them all for $125 a box. Over the years I sold off another box or so. I still have a box or 2 somewhere in storage. Nothing for sale.
