And, second the OC and NCO and AC chips were there for mostly fun. In Panama, they had "fun night" where players just had a friendly game and they won prizes. Maybe two tables at most. Table stakes were low and the prizes we worth the five or six dollars to get the chip. Here's my take, I saw chips from all over the Air Force, and some from foreign countries in the games. Here's how it worked, the USO ladies did all the work getting prizes, etc. Reason I know that is they wore a fancy little uniform U.S.O. with stars. The Officer's Club was a different animal -- they had ready cash. The gambling I did was to kill time, I went to the off-base casinos for serious play.
Guess you being in SAC put a different perspective on what they called "gambling." I was so glad not to be assigned a SAC assignment -- way too many alerts and ORIs!
