We are going to Italy in a few weeks and our Delta numbered flight (thru the tour company) on the way home is actually run by ATA (ALITALIA). For some reason, Delta cannot give out our seat assignment. When we contact Alitalia they say that they cannot give out seat assignments for Delta flights. We even offered to pay for it but no luck. They say our seats will be assigned when we check in at the airport. There is no way we want to wait until the last second to get our seat assignments on a 10 hour flight and be stuck separated and both stuck in middle seats. Has anyone run into this problem and do you have a good solution?
