Neat idea. I just wish someone could figure out how to get chip stains out of old Chipco chips. I have had to toss so many away because the red bleeds on the white chips. Can I make a quick suggestion on your project and I don't think it will take away from the chip. Put a small mint mark like OL someone where on the chip and add to the chipguide explaining what you did with that chip. This post will be here and gone and overtime what you have done might be lost.
Just a suggestion but it will help maintain the integrity of the non-drilled chips down the line.
