This club is mostly members who aren't involved in the day to day politics of the club. At a local meeting a couple weeks ago, a long time member and convention dealer had no idea there was an election, or that Jerry had resigned as president. It's just not something he cares about. He doesn't read the boards, doesn't read the magazine. He just like the collect chips.

I'd guess 90% of the membership don't know who David or Eric were, or what they stand for. Do you really want them voting?

I would rather a small number of concerned and knowledgeable members vote, than a large number voting based on nothing.

Now, if you are arguing that more members SHOULD be concerned about who is running the club. That's a different issue, but seems pretty typical of collectors clubs.
