everything you have posted since Jerry quit, this is no surprise. In fact, I would be truly surprised if you were to say anything positive about the CCA unless someone the SNCCC put up as a candidate actually won the election.
I am glad the SNCCC is doing well. Of course, much of that is due to your generous purchase of so many memberships for others. I hope they are active members and not just a way of pumping up the membership figures.
I think there are really good things happening at the SNCCC. The corporate sponsorship of the show is what catches my eye. They seem to do a lot of fun things.
There are also things happening at the SNCCC that I personally find very troubling. First, the comments on this board, started by a very small number of people, mostly you, that pit the SNCCC and the CCA against each other. They have always co-existed peacefully and I don't see any reason whey they shouldn't continue to do so in the future. Second, the SNCCC ads I, and some others who have complained about it, have received when I, and they, never gave our contact information to the SNCCC. I wonder how the SNCCC got that information?
I believe that the squabbling that you perpetuate is not good for the hobby in any way. Helping one group at the expense of the other is bound to cause friction which will further put people off from this hobby.
And the rationale that is given is also confusing to me. It is implied that the Board did something horrible to Jerry. What did they do? Have a different opinion? Isn't it their job to vote as they think they should? Jerry quit. He was not kicked out. I doubt too many people know what really happened between Jerry and the other Board members, but some have been quick to label it and form opinions that don't coincide with what I have personally witnessed. And, as the legal consultant to the Board, I am privy to a whole lot more than most people. As with most things, the situation was complex and not at all one-sided.
And what did the CCA do to Rich Burgel? That's been mentioned quite number of times (although I don't believe by you). As far as I know, Rich has had issues with a single individual. That person is not on the CCA Board. The actions that have upset Rich have been made by that person in their individual capacity.
I believe I get along fine with Jerry, Rich and most other people in this hobby. I am all for building up the hobby and bringing new people into the clubs, whether national or local. The nasty cuts and digs are petty and counterproductive. Just get along, enjoy the hobby.
JMHO.
