Re: What makes a chip rare and valuable

There are a lot of things that can bring value to a chip
That will increase its price. I’m my opinion and others is,
Popularity of the Casino
Rarity, how many exist and why ? Some reasons make a difference
such as only one left known from a table played chip when there
was once many. Limited edition, Pulled from the tables, prototypes
Samples, one got out and the rest destroyed.
Where it comes from ? Las Vegas, Tahoe, Reno small towns Nevada
Cuba, Texas are some examples of desirable areas of collecting and chips
from these areas tend to have higher values.
I have some foreign chips and California chips that would be worth 10 times
more price wise if they were from Las Vegas or Reno. I guess people are
more willing to pay more and find the history, fame and popularity of
these in higher demand ?
I cherish some of my Lester value chips personally more than some of my more
expensive chips, because of their history and personal desirability.
It’s all fun and the history very interesting
Take care
