Oh the Boulevard, that's funny and brings back memories. That place was an anomaly even when it was hanging on the last years. Top notch, friendly, we used the meeting room for SCCA club events in roughly 1999 or 2000.
They relocated, which is strange because the name was the place Sherman Boulevard, and it was downtown in the Cudahy Tower Building and then closed.
Illegal gambling in Milwaukee didn't end in the 50s, or 60s for that matter. I wonder what they used for chips? But even if I know someone, I'm not sure I'd want to ask. OK make that, I know I'd never want to ask any questions, ever!

Augie had a nice little corner bar on the East side. A bunch of us kids would go there, and we bowled, played softball and golfed with the other regulars. Every bit above board.
I didn't frequent Richie's, but these names are pretty prominent in Milwaukee history. The bars named, so many were popular clubs in the 70s. Sally's steak house was very nice and had excellent food. I'd say that back to the bottom line, Milwaukee for years had some of the best restaurants North of Chicago.
