For one or two chips I use a cardboard mailer in a plain envelope and the pay the extra for shipping something rigid. Costs $.88 for one chip and I have not had any problems. I mark each envelope "Non-machinable" since that is what I am paying the extra money for. I also weigh and ship everything from my house since that way I don't have to argue with the critters at the post office.
